Atmospheric evenings of al fresco food, wine and music
As evidenced by our excitement at the British asparagus and cherry seasons, knowing that a good thing will soon come to end tends to enhance the pleasure we take from it. That’s why, when the days lengthen and the air warms up for a few short months in the summer, residents of these weather-battered islands embrace al-fresco eating with a joyful abandon that would shock a complacent Californian or sun-weary Sydneysider.
At Borough Market this summer, that slightly manic enthusiasm for outdoor eating will be fuelled by the appearance in the evening (Wednesday to Friday) of seven pop-up stalls below the picturesque portico of the Floral Hall, offering high quality food, wine and musical entertainment for a venture entitled ‘Summer Nights at Borough Market’.
“Tell me more, tell me more,” we hear you say, as an awful earworm burrows its way in. Two Borough stalwarts— Porteña, and Richard Haward’s Oysters—will be joined by Pizza Lenta (the new venture from Philip Crouch of The Parma Ham and Mozzarella Stand) and a rotating cast of guest traders, covering a wonderfully diverse array of top notch food in a highly atmospheric setting.

Summer Nights begins on 15th June, every Wednesday to Friday, 6-10.30pm and continues until the end of September.
