A souper sale day

Made from surplus vegetables, homemade soups will be sold by local secondary school pupils to raise valuable funds for FareShare, an organisation which diverts good food destined for the bin to good causes.

The students have already been put through their paces by celebrated chef and author of Magic Soup, Nicole Pisani, who taught the budding sous-chefs how to make four soup recipes at a special workshop in the Market.

These budding chefs will be setting up their stalls in Green Market, selling their soups to the public and giving our other street food traders a run for their money.

The winter soup sale is the culmination of a five year relationship with Borough Market and School Food Matters, a charity whose mission is to ensure that every child enjoys fresh, sustainable food at school and understands where their food comes from.

So come on down between 12-2pm on Tuesday 7th February and buy your lunch from our young traders, knowing that not only have you done your bit to eradicate food waste, you're also giving to a 'souper' cause.
