Demo Kitchen: Alissa Timoshkina

A demo from the Russian chef and author of Salt and Time, in honour of National Vegetarian Week

To celebrate National Vegetarian Week, which this year takes place 13th—19th May, Russian chef Alissa Timoshkina brings to the Demo Kitchen a range of delicious dishes from her cookbook Salt and Time. Alissa’s menu will explore the flavours and nuances of Siberian cuisine—which she describes as a “crossroads of eastern European and central Asian” cooking—and comprises beetroot and tvorog (Quark-like cheese) rye crostini with pickled grapes and Russian dukkah; carrot patties with coriander yoghurt; courgette dip; and apple and fennel kraut.

Demo kitchens take place from 1-2:30pm in the Market Hall and are free to attend, with tasters, cooking tips and recipe cards to take home
