Demo Kitchen April residency - Sweet baking

Borough Market’s Demonstration Kitchen residencies are back after a short winter break. Running every Thursday in the Market Hall, these series of cooking demonstrations focus on a particular theme each month. First up: Sweet Baking

As the weather warms up, the first flowers begin to bloom and Easter is just around the corner, we will be enjoying a month of cooking demonstrations looking at the many different recipes and methods used to create sweet bakes. 

Find more details on chefs and menus below. Demo kitchens take place from 1-2.30pm and are free to attend with tasters, cooking tips and recipe cards to take home.

Hayden Groves - Classic European bakes

- Honey and lemon steamed pudding

- Profiteroles filled with creme diplomat and a rich dark chocolate sauce

Kathy Slack - Sweet baking with vegetables 

- Sweet carrot and thyme frangipane tart

- Courgette and lime muffins with a lime frosting

- Squash and apricot loaf with demerara crust and sugared primroses

- Beetroot chocolate brownies

Juliet Sear - Celebratory bakes for Easter

- Carrot patch Easter cake – carrot cake with frosting, baby sprouting carrots, chopped nuts and chocolate crumb earth
