The full Indian: a traditional Indian breakfast
This Friday 3rd May, Asma Khan, founder of the Darjeeling Express restaurant on Kingly Court, Carnaby Street, is making a very welcome return to the Demo Kitchen.
Asma has been voted Female Entrepreneur of the Year at the Asian Restaurant Awards and Entrepreneur of the Year in the Asian Women of the Year Awards, and her debut cookbook, Asma's Indian Kitchen, was published late last year. She was the first British chef to feature in Netflix's Emmy-nominated Chef's Table series and is a long-time friend of Borough Market.
Asma will be focusing on a traditional Indian breakfast. Her menu will include:
— Attae ka paratha and Lachedar parathas
— Zeera aloo (thinly sliced Jersey royals with dried red chillies and cumin)
— Khageena (spiced scrambled eggs)
— Saffron mango lassi
*This Friday the Demo Kitchen has moved* due to the Market Hall being closed for a private event and will be held from 1-2:30pm in Middle Road between Turnips and Elsey & Bent, under the bell (not at our normal Demo Kitchen in the Market Hall—but only a stone’s throw away). Come and join us to discover just what a full Indian breakfast entails!
Demo Kitchens are free to attend, with tasters, cooking tips and recipe cards to take home.
