In support of the #CookForSyria campaign, Roberta Siao will be joining us in the Demo Kitchen
A Brazilian chef who oversees the kitchen at Mazi Mas—a pop up restaurant and social enterprise that works to empower women from migrant and refugee communities—Roberta will be using Market produce to create four Middle Eastern-inspired dishes.
Led by Clerkenwell Boy and Suitcase Magazine, #CookForSyria is a campaign to raise funds and awareness of the humanitarian crisis affecting children in Syria. Roberta will be putting her cooking talents to good use in the demonstration kitchen, as she introduces some Syrian inspired recipes to our audience.
Her menu will include:
Tabbouleh with cucumber, parsley and mint
Smoky baba ghanoush
Kafta minced beef with cinnamon, cumin, mint, lime zest and baharat (a Syrian spice blend)
Yoghurt sauce with za’atar to accompany the kafta
Join Roberta at the free cookery demonstration, full of tips, tastings and recipes on Friday 4th November in the Market Hall, 12:30-2pm, and help make a difference and positive contribution towards this important initiative.
