Winner of BBC Cook of the Year Deirdre Woods takes over the demo kitchen
Deirdre Woods, winner of BBC Cook of the Year 2016 award, is set to take over the demonstration kitchen on Friday 1st July and Saturday 2nd July. Dee, a volunteer cook at the Granville Community Kitchen in South Kilburn, will be cooking a selection of recipes using surplus produce, turning ingredients that would have otherwise gone to waste into tasty and inspiring dishes.
Her menu will be a melting pot of inspiration from across the globe and will include:
Chakalaka, a South African speciality
Watermelon Otai, a Polynesian summer cooler
Summer Salad, based on an American succotash
Tomato Choka with Sada Roti, a popular Trinidad and Tobago breakfast
Free tasters and tips will be available in abundance so come and join us for two sessions on Friday, the first 12.30-2pm and second 3-4.30pm.
On Saturday Dee will be in the demo kitchen from 12.30-2pm
