Demo Kitchen June residency: Moveable feasts

Running every Thursday in the Market Hall, Borough Market’s Demonstration Kitchen residencies focus on a particular theme each month. This month: Moveable Feasts

We will be here every Thursday in the month of June to help you become the best friend or host you can be, even when you are on the move! Our chefs will give you plenty of recipes, tips and tricks to make entertaining this season as pain-free as possible.

Every Thursday throughout the month, a different chef will join us, demonstrating dishes that can contribute to a moveable feast. 

Demos are free to attend, with tasters, cooking tips and recipe cards to take home, so come and join us!

Leah Hyslop: Picnics
Leah Hyslop is a London-based food and drink writer. A former editor at The Telegraph, she is now food director of Sainsbury's Magazine. Her debut cookbook Made in London is a celebration of London's vibrant food scene past and present, ranging from historic recipes such as Chelsea buns to modern street food classics.

Dhruv Baker: Barbecue dishes

Dhruv Baker was born in Mexico and raised in India before moving to the UK in 1989. He won MasterChef in 2010 and went on to forge a career in food, running his own private catering company, presenting a number of TV programmes, appearing at food festivals as a demo chef or host, and working as chef-patron of the Jolly Gardeners in southwest London. His first cookbook, Spice Layers of Flavour, was released in 2014. He has now turned his attention full-time to a long-time passion of his: charcuterie. He co-founded Tempus Foods, a single-breed British charcuterie company based in Weybridge.

Lesley Holdship: Lunchboxes

Lesley Holdship is a professional cookery teacher, home economist and recipe writer with over 25 years of experience. Lesley works with 16-19 year olds in the southwest of England, honing their skills to become our chefs of the future. She has worked with Borough Market on various different projects including cookery demonstrations, cookery workshops and recipe writing for the Borough Market publication, Market Life.
