Join us as we celebrate the end of term and a new beginning for the apprentice programme
Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen apprentices have appeared in our demo kitchen on a regular basis since 2014. The programme, now in its 14th year, trains unemployed 18-25 year olds to become professional chefs. As part of the course, apprentices work towards an NVQ level two qualification at college, get hands-on training in the Fifteen kitchen and go on a number of sourcing trips to learn about food provenance.
The programme is now evolving, using the insight gathered over the years to give more young people the opportunity to be part of the restaurant industry, by expanding the apprentice programme across the country.
Apprentices Gianni and Sarah are the last of this year’s cohort to take centre stage at Borough Market’s demonstration kitchen. They’ll be showing off their new skills with a range of their very own recipes, using ingredients sourced directly from the Market. The theme will be Middle Eastern-inspired summer food—so we'll be expecting big flavours and sunshine on a plate!
Join us as we celebrate the end of term and a new beginning for the apprentice programme. The apprentices will be at the demo kitchen between 12-2pm on Friday 8th July. Tasters and recipes will be available.
