Borough Market plays host to River Cottage for a month-long series of events
Borough Market and River Cottage have much in common: a commitment to ethical sourcing and tackling food waste, support for small-scale producers and, importantly, a platform for putting good quality and seriously tasty food in the spotlight.
Now, these two giants of British food culture are joining forces, with a month-long partnership hosted by Borough Market. This will feature an impressive roster of ticketed talks and masterclasses from River Cottage personalities, including a preservation workshop from author and food writer Rachel de Thample, foraging tips from mycologist John Wright and an introduction to wild food and nose-to-tail eating from Gill Meller.
The programme will culminate in a vegetarian feast on 21st September, hosted by Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, celebrating the launch of his new book, Much More Veg. In a show of solidarity, proceeds from the dinner will go to the Borough Market trader support fund, set up by the Borough Market charity to support traders affected by the closure of the Market after the June terror attacks.
Several of the chefs will also be joining us in the Demo Kitchen for a series of free cookery demonstrations—look out for further details.
