Taking place on Tuesday 9th October, in the lead up to Social Saturday itself, this event at Borough Market will showcase a fantastic range of UK social enterprises selling food and drink products - each with a unique social or environmental mission
A special pop-up mini market will be held in Market Hall filled with brilliant social enterprise products from coffee and beer to chocolate and olive oil, with a cooking demonstration taking place at 12.30pm - run by head chef at social enterprise restaurant, Brigade Bar and Bistro. This will be followed by a delicious chocolate tasting session and a recipe demonstration from Divine Chocolate.
Borough Market has always nurtured young, small businesses and social enterprises – supporting them to become strong and successful and a viable option for our shoppers. So join us and discover new businesses and products and learn about the stories behind them. By coming down and supporting you’ll be doing your bit help the local and international community.
About Social Saturday
Social Saturday is an annual campaign to raise awareness of the difference that social enterprises are making in communities on your doorstep and around the world, and to encourage you to support these businesses when making your purchasing decisions. Social enterprises are businesses that put people and planet first, by re-investing their profits to provide training, employment, housing, health, education, clean water and much more.
The campaign is led by the national body for social enterprises, Social Enterprise UK (SEUK) and is supported by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport and the Co-op. Find out more at https://www.socialenterprise.org.uk/socialsaturday
