Borough Market has always nurtured young, small businesses and social enterprises – supporting them to become strong and successful and a viable option for our shoppers. With traders such as Rubies in the Rubble, Change Please and the Golden Co growing from strength to strength, Borough Market is the natural home for a one day Social Saturday pop up –a movement that encourages customers to buy from social enterprises, businesses that put people and the planet first.
We hope you will join us in supporting our special Social Saturday stall on 15th October in our Market Hall. A selection of some of the most interesting, ethical, sustainable and planet friendly businesses will be showcasing their products, from tote bags made out of rice sacks supporting education and housing projects in India, to chocolates that employ young people with autism.
Chef Founder Simon Boyle of Brigrade will also be cooking up a storm in the demonstration kitchen 12-2pm. His Beyond Food Foundation offers work experience, catering skills and qualifications for people who are at risk of, or have experienced, homelessness.
So join us and discover new businesses and products and learn about the stories behind them. By coming down and supporting you’ll be doing your bit help the local and international community.
The stall will be open 10-5pm on Saturday.
