Borough Market, Franchi Seeds of Italy and the Eden Project are joining forces to create an abundant kitchen garden for the RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower show, running from 3rd – 8th July.
Designed to look like a traditional Market stall, the kitchen garden will highlight the importance of seasonality, diversity and provenance of produce, in a display of traditional Mediterranean varieties of flowers and vegetables including Alpine spinach from Asti, Neapolitan friarielli broccoletti, chickpeas from Tuscany and borlotti beans from Saluggia.
The garden is Borough Market’s first RHS display, and is being designed by a team of horticulturalists from Eden, lead by multi-award winning designers Emma Gunn and Paul Stone. Franchi Seeds of Italy is a seventh generation, family-run business, with roots stretching back as far as 1782.
