A large-scale, hands-on cookery event raising awareness of food poverty in London
With the help of School of Wok we'll be hosting a large scale cookery workshop event in the Market Hall on 1st November, and all for a great cause.
Led by founder and chef, Jeremy Pang a brigade of 200 keen cooks will create a series of Asian inspired dishes in a fun and engaging cookery class. No one will be going hungry as all participants will get a chance to sit down and sample the fruits of their labour, plus over 1000 meals created will be packaged up and delivered to charities and organisations across London, feeding those in need.
Hailing from three generations of Chinese chefs, chef Jeremy has developed a real passion for food and soon realised the importance and correlation between basic cooking skills and eating well. School of Wok’s mission has always been to provide engaging and exciting hands-on opportunities to the public, with a specialist focus in Chinese and oriental cookery. With a focus on providing good quality food with a fresh approach, this project hopes to inspire those attending, as they work together to create a delicious meal to share, and raise awareness of food poverty in the capital.
All profits from ticket sales will go to the charity Plan Zheroes, who work towards achieving zero food waste and hunger. The event starts at 8.30am and finishes at 2pm.
