Recipe Competition - The Results!
Earlier this month, we asked you to show us what you could do and send us your recipes using ingredients from the Market. We were overwhelmed with the response to the competition and spent an exciting few hours reading through your delicious recipes. What an inspired bunch you are!
It was a difficult task, but we finally chose a winner and congratulations are in order for Alessandra Schiavinato who submitted her beautiful recipe for Italian Style Pasta with Broccoli!
Our chef, Hayley Edwards, said that she chose this dish as the winner because of its versatility. "Alessandra's recipe is a great base recipe, which any cook could substitute elements on the ingredients list to suit the tastes of their family or friends. It's a delicious, simple dish which is perfect for a comforting and warming supper."
Alessandra's dish will be cooked by Hayley at our Demonstration Kitchen on Thursday 9th February from 12-2pm where you can try it for yourself. And afterwards, why not visit Borough Wines hear their suggestions for a perfect accompanying wine.
It was so difficult to choose a winner that we've also decided to highlight two Runners Up – Mark Scott for his Spiced Duck Breast with Sweet Potato Mash and Green Beans and Sue Schultz for her Cream of Rocket Soup with Truffle Oil. They have both picked themselves up a Borough Market Kitchen Kit.
