Sebastiano Accaputo and his wife Maria Attardi are originally from Siracusa in Sicily, and they are now bringing the traditional food of their island homeland to Borough Market. Sebastiano and Maria make regular trips back to Sicily, visiting producers – all of whom they know well - and selecting products to sell on their stall.
Specialities include: unfiltered Mongibello olive oil, made from hard-harvested Sicilian tonda iblea olives; olive oils flavoured with orange, rosemary or lemon, made by crushing the aromatics with the olives, rather than infusing the oil; a hot, vibrant chilli pepper patè and a hugely healthy mackerel patè; unfiltered, cold extracted chestnut and orange blossom honey, perfect with cheese; hand made amaretti biscuits; and a range of Sicilian cheeses such as Caciocavallo Ragusano, Piacentino Ennese and Pecorino Siciliano.
