The Jubilee at Borough Market
2 – 5 June

CELEBRATE THE JUBILEE WITH FOOD FIT FOR A QUEEN
Borough Market will be open over the extra-long Jubilee weekend, beautifully dressed in regal bunting and featuring music from the last seven decades. Most importantly, it will be packed with food fit for a Queen – our traders will be offering all of the incredible seasonal produce you need for a celebratory picnic, street party or barbecue.
Jubilee recipes
To inspire your shopping, we’ve asked Angela Clutton, food writer and host of the Borough Market Cookbook Club, to produce a decade-by-decade exploration of the nation’s evolving attitudes towards cooking and eating throughout the Queen’s reign, and share a recipe that takes its lead from the defining cookbook of each era, from Patience Gray in the 1950s to Yotam Ottolenghi in the 2010s. These will be presented in a special newspaper available free at the Market, as well as being shared on our website.
Community lunch
On Thursday 2nd June Borough Market will be holding a Jubilee community lunch for its charity partners and their beneficiaries, as well as local clubs and community groups. Eighty diners from institutions including Southwark Cathedral, United Saint Saviours, local schools, Plan Zheroes, School Food Matters, Southwark Day Centre and Asylum Seekers, and Southwark Young Entrepreneurs will come together to celebrate in the Market Hall.
