Three weeks of mouth-watering entertainment, beamed live from our home to yours
Let us inspire your festive table this Christmas with three weeks of mouth-watering entertainment, beamed live from our home to yours. At the Festive Kitchen, three amazing curators will host a packed schedule of activities, with a stellar line-up of guests including Anna Jones, Gizzi Erskine, Romy Gill and Calum Franklin.
Plenty of Market traders will also be sharing their expertise, with demos from Borough Market Kitchen favourites Mei Mei, Shuk and Juma Kitchen, and appearances from The Gated Garden, nibs etc, Butter Nut of London and Rabot 1745.
The first three Wednesdays of December will see three of our produce traders take the helm. The butchers at Northfield Farm will be showing us different ways to prepare a classic porchetta; Turnips’ exec chef Tomas Lidakevicius will be giving a masterclass in making veg magnificent; while Matt Jones of Bread Ahead will be offering up a lunchtime demo on baking two Christmas favourites, mince pies and amaretti biscuits.
Among the highlights will be six live digital cookalongs, with a cast of exceptional chefs. If you live in London, for three of the cookalongs you’ll be able to treat yourself to a full recipe kit delivered direct from the Market, ready for you to join in with the fun.
On Friday 4th December, Mark Riddaway, author of Borough’s latest book Edible Histories: Epic tales of everyday ingredients, will be sharing his insights into how some of the foods we now consider firm favourites found themselves on our plates to start with – and why knowing a little bit more about the foods we eat, where they come from and how they got here can give us all a better idea of where our food is headed.
Tune in live: the entire festive kitchen schedule will be aired on our Facebook page!
