Head of Operations

We are looking for a Head of Operations, a key role at London’s historic food market and a fantastic opportunity to join a highly energetic and dynamic team.

Reporting to the Director of Operations, the key focus of this role is ensuring the very busy Market runs smoothly. The job holder is responsible for ensuring the brand is well represented at all times and exceptional customer service is delivered at all levels.

You will need to be an exceptional leader who can help cultivate an employee culture that is progressive and supportive and always be looking to drive and improve the Market’s sustainable practices. You will be a collaborative team player working with other senior staff on strategic planning and ensuring that the operational staff are all aware of Borough Market’s standards and best practices.

This is a diverse role that requires high levels of organisational skills along with the ability to prioritise. You will work independently using own initiative to resolve day-to-day issues,  providing a safe and welcoming environment for customers, liaising with traders and resolving issues.

Applicants will need to have a strong operational background with extensive experience in a similar role / environment and outstanding leadership skills, strategic thinking and exceptional communications skills.

In House Property Solicitor (12 month FTC to Cover for maternity)

Would you like to work for London’s historic food market? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a small finance and property team. The role will cover for our current in house solicitor while she goes off on Maternity leave.

To fill this position, we require an experienced In house property Solicitor.

We are looking for a highly knowledgeable individual who has experience of advising on property law, both internally and externally, and has a strong understanding of best practices in property within charities. To be successful you will be skilled at forming positive relationships with key stakeholders at all levels of seniority.

The role will assist in protecting the Market’s position in the context of the leases, licenses and tenancies at will into which it enters with traders and tenant. You will be representing the Trust’s interests and liaising directly with stakeholders and negotiating teams
