Market Explorers Garden

7, 14, 21 & 28 August, 11am – 3pm

On Wednesday 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th August, we’ll be hosting a series of fun, inspiring activities designed to get primary-age children thinking about the food they eat. Located in a dedicated space within the Market, there will be two fun stations for children to explore. Both activities are free of charge and no bookings are required, but kids must be accompanied at all times by a responsible adult.

WHAT’S IN THE BOX?

Get your hands on a range of fresh produce items hidden in a series of boxes, with the aim of identifying them through touch and smell alone. The difficulty of the challenge will vary with age, ranging from everyday produce to some of the Market’s more unusual offerings.

WONKY VEG PAINTING

Create colourful paintings using wonky fruit and veg instead of brushes! We’ll have a selection of fresh but slightly misshapen produce on hand, ready to be explored, discussed and used to apply paint to paper, resulting in all kinds of weird and wonderful shapes. We’ll then hang your paintings to dry on a magical-looking tree.
