Current Opportunities
Trustee
We are seeking a new trustee to boost a balanced Board that reflects our activities and our community.
We are particularly keen to recruit an individual who has knowledge of and experience in the food industry, food supply chain sustainability and food policy,.
We want people who can demonstrate real enthusiasm and love of the Market, and a desire to make a difference and give back to the community, and particularly welcome applications from people with a strong connection to the local area of Southwark.
We want a Board that is representative of our local community, so we encourage applications from candidates from traditionally underrepresented groups who have the right level of skills and experience including lived experience but not necessarily at Board level.
Closing date for applications is 6 October 2025.

Meet our team
Borough Market is run by a charitable trust, whose trustees devolve the day-to-day running of the Market to a senior management team.
The trustees are chosen for the breadth and relevance of their skills and experience, are here to ensure that the Market adapts to changes in the food world and uses its influence to help shape those changes.

Living Wage Employer
We’re proud to have been accredited as a Living Wage Employer since 2016, and have recently attained Living Hours accreditation.
The real Living Wage is the only UK wage rate based on the cost of living. It is voluntarily paid by over 15,000 UK businesses who believe their staff deserve a wage which meets everyday needs.
Our story
Our story began 1,000 years ago, when a market took shape at the foot of London Bridge. Since 1756, we’ve been in our current location, run by a charitable trust on behalf of the community. Today, our mission is to show that food can be made and sold in ways that are better for people, for the planet and for the sheer pleasure of eating.
