Before starting Artisan Foods, Klaus Kuhnke was a successful chef at his own restaurant, Scallywags, in Stoke Newington. Now Klaus has a bakery in Whitechapel, where Artisan Foods makes handmade sweet and savoury pastry products and cakes. His philosophy is to make everything from scratch, just like you’d make it at home. The stall is especially known for quiches, tartlets and rich chocolate brownies and has recently broadened its range to include a variety of sourdough breads made with organic Shipton Mill flour.
