Young Marketeers Harvest Sale

2nd October, 11am – 2pm

LONDON CHILDREN COME TO BOROUGH TO SELL FRUIT AND VEGETABLES GROWN FROM SEED AT THEIR SCHOOLS

On Wednesday 2nd October, children from several London primary schools will spend the day experiencing life as Borough Market traders, selling fruit and vegetables that they and their classmates have grown from seed at school. Every penny raised by the children will be used by The Felix Project to provide meals for vulnerable families across the capital.

The Harvest Sale is the culmination of the Young Marketeers programme, run as a partnership with campaigning food education charity School Food Matters. As well as being taught the basics of growing produce by experienced horticulturalists, the children benefit from advice from our traders on how to be successful stallholders, from creating eye-catching displays to hygiene and customer relations.

In the decade since the programme began, more than 50,000 schoolchildren have helped grow produce for sale at the Market, and the money raised has provided more than 30,000 meals for families in need.
