An after-hours celebration of fire and flavour

On Thursday 10 September, for one night only, we’re opening Borough Market after-hours for an unforgettable evening dedicated to the oldest cooking technique of them all: fire.

Flame & Smoke celebrates the theatre, versatility and irresistible flavour of cooking over fire. Set in Green Market and the open-air space beside Southwark Cathedral, the event brings together a hand-picked selection of Borough Market’s traders and restaurants for an evening of exclusive dishes, live-fire cooking and exceptional produce.

Each trader has been invited to create special small dishes inspired by the power of fire, many using ingredients sourced from the Market.

As grills sizzle and flames flicker, you’ll have the chance to meet the people behind the food, watch live demonstrations offering expert advice, and experience the excitement of cooking over fire up close.

Tickets

Tickets are required for entry and are priced at £7 (plus booking fee).

Tickets will go on sale to Friends of Borough Market on Tuesday 11 August 2026. It’s free to join – just sign up here.

Any remaining tickets will go on general sale on Monday 17 August 2026.

All dishes, produce, and drink on the night will be available to purchase, with a range of small plates and tasters designed to suit different budgets.
