Jill Liddell-Grainger, a farmer’s daughter from the Scottish borders, learnt her jam-making skills from her mother and grandmother. Now based in the small village of Bicknoller, West Somerset, she produces a range of marmalades, jams, jellies, relishes and chutneys, all of them made by hand. Many of the ingredients come straight from Jill’s own vegetable plot and greenhouse in her back garden, while others are bartered from neighbours.
